Kazimir Malevich created the "Peasant Woman" in the 1928-1930s. He remained true to his traditions: volumetric geometric forms of motley shades, disproportionate parts of the body, minimalistic background, people completely devoid of personality.

The artist depicts his character with a black oval in place of his head, limply and powerlessly dropping his hands, a white robe indicates that this is a woman. The figure stands on contrasting stripes of a color field.

Against the background, there are no other bodies: here, the author also remained true to his style. However, the distinctive feature of the "Peasant Woman" is the contour of her dress. Malevich likes to saturate his works with a variety of shades, applying a gradient. Comparing the black-and-white woman with the general multicolor it is possible to testify that her image is gloomy.

Watching the spectator’s canvas, a feeling of irreversibility of any loss will overtake, it, growing, will increase in size. The paintings symbolize the lifestyle of the peasants - the working people. Their slave labor, endless cares and torments from a difficult life - this is what such canvases depict. Malevich depersonalizes his heroes, shows their mass character, sameness, insignificance and pettiness of human life.

He expresses uniqueness not by facial features, but by the shapes and variety of colors. There is room for imagination: for a long time looking at the paintings, the figures appear faces, roles, actions. With such images, each person has his own version of what is happening, what is drawn on canvas.

An important feature of the author’s works is that each object, figure, body, part of the body - are drawn separately, folding onto each other - this gives the paintings an expressive look.
